2011 Angel of the Year
According to other
members of the Morgan County Chapter of West Virginians for Life, this 2011 Angel recipient is
known as Mr. Pro-Life. Jim Fritz is President of the Morgan County
Chapter and does the schedule of events, organizes and participates in sidewalk
counseling at the Main Street Abortuary and to date has had 236 saves since Oct
2006. Jim organizes the Morgan County Fair booth with videos, pro-life
materials and handouts. Jim also organizes the pro-life Apple Butter
parade float and pro-life booth. He publishes five monthly newsletters
yearly to 300 on the mailing list and does mailings to supporters. As if
that’s not enough, he provides material and information for the Morgan County website www.wvfl-mcc.com.
Without Jim, there would be no Morgan County Chapter, so they say.
Morgan County activities include a full size Pro-Life
billboard on the major route through Morgan County and their annual Respect Life Dinner with
over 150 attendees every September.
Jim’s lifetime career has been in
electronic engineering including contracts with the Distant Early Warning line
in Alaska; White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico; various missile programs
with NASA in Louisiana and Maryland; the Army at the Pentagon; the IRS, the
FAA, Department of Agriculture and NOAA in Washington DC; and, several other
private and government agencies.
Jim relocated to Berkeley Springs eleven
years ago and started a Christian radio station in Berkeley Springs (WDTF 107.9
FM) eight years ago with a repeater station (WDTF 96.3 FM) in Hancock, Maryland. National Right to Life’s Pro-Life
Perspective airs on both stations.
He is a father of three, a grandfather of ten and
great-grandfather of one.
The annual award was presented at the State Convention on
October 15 in Fairmont.
Congratulations, Jim!
